The meaning of fish
In my angling firth,
My minnow-mind slipped
And did not deserve.
Alluvial sediment,
Disinterment deferred,
Shifting sands seen
On a dark shiftless earth.
Croaker-bait,
Poison hook;
Reeled from a river,
My gauche gawping look.
The meaning of fish
Too late I would learn,
For if not for fish, or
Water-weeds or worms,
I would not exist
From a loch to the burn,
And my scaly-grey heart
Would no longer yearn.
Nick, I’m sorry to write this here, but I didn’t know where else to ask you 🙂 Would you be willing to give me permission to link to your page for an award post I’m doing? Otherwise, I can simply write your name without the link. It’s an appreciation post of sorts.

I was thinking about the people who have followed and actively supported me from the beginning. You are one of those, so of course I thought to include you 😄

I love these rhythms! Especially the alliteration of the second stanza. Very nice.
